Wess Doskocil serves as the Executive Director of Response Operations for New York City Emergency Management, bringing more than twenty-five years of extensive experience in emergency management and field operations. Throughout his career, he has played a critical leadership role in coordinating response and recovery efforts during some of New York City’s most serious emergencies, as well as supporting the safe and effective execution of large-scale planned events.
Known for his operational expertise, calm leadership under pressure, and strong interagency coordination skills, Wess has worked closely with public safety partners, government agencies, and private-sector stakeholders to ensure timely and effective emergency response. His background in field operations and incident management has enabled him to provide strategic guidance to senior leadership while maintaining a hands-on understanding of the complex challenges faced by responders on the ground.
In his current role, he oversees agency emergency response operations, citywide event deployment strategies, and the integration of emergency management resources to support the City’s preparedness, response, and recovery mission.
